Prep for Saturday scrappin'

I've been feverishly going through iPhoto the last few days picking out photos to get reprinted in time for the Saturday crop at Archiver's in Coon Rapids. My friend Nikole from work invited me. I guess there is a group of Nikole's husband's friend's wives are going and they invited Nikole. She doesn't know them that well, and I don't know them at all. I'm really looking forward to it. A whole night to focus on scrapping. At first, I wasn't sure I wanted to do it. I've only done one other crop and that was at a convention when mom and I first started scrapping. At that tome, everything we owned fit in a tote. Now, I'm lucky if I can get 10% of my supplies in my tote! And I wasn't sure what I wanted to work on. However, knowing that I'm going to this crop, it has forced me to get some "pre-work" completed so I can work on a project or two while I'm there. I KNOW I wouldn't have down that if the crop wasn't looming.

Thanksgiving

Just wanted to post a few pictures from Thanksgiving. We went to my parent's house on Thanksgiving Day. In addition to my parents were: Grandma June, Grandpa Bob, Uncle Glenn, Marissa and Jason.

On Saturday, we did Turkey Day all over again with Mana's family - at Eric & Mindi's house. Zander & Ayden had their own "kid table" and they kept claiming that they saw deer outside. Mindi and Eric made a wonderful turkey. I know Mindi was excited to be able to finally entertain in their new house. After dinner and dessert, the Fitzgerald family visited. Dan, Sheila and Brady came from Florida. It was SO great to see them. They will probably be moving back to MN within a year. That would be awesome!!

My scrappin' buddy

Love this picture of my little scrappin' buddy! It makes me so happy that he's so into watching and helping me. He helps tame my type-A personality. After several shirts got ink on them, I bought him his own washable ink pads. Now, he can have fun without me being paranoid the whole time. I didn't realize how my type-A personality still comes out every once and while. The other day, he was drawing letters and asked me if it was perfect. I told him it was great and things don't always have to be perfect anyhow! In this picture, I think we were making a card for Gma Karen and Gpa Kurt. He likes making "mixed media" projects - some stamps, markers, punches and glue. Quite the artist!!

Books!

Several weeks ago, I went to a "home party show" at the Andover YMCA. They had different booths like Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, etc. They had an Usborne Books booth set up. It was the company that makes Zander's finding book and about 4 other of his favorite books. I knew I had to buy something. They have great books. Anyhow, I ended up buying another finding book for my nephew Ayden (for this 3rd b-day) and a book for my niece Zaylee for x-mas. I also got a pirate finding book for Zander for x-mas, but it was out of stock. The consultant just delivered it yesterday. He's going to LOVE it. He loves anything pirates, thanks to g-ma Karen. My 3 year-old can point out Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swan from Pirates of the Carribean movie. Impressive!

Thanksgiving... defined by Zander

According to Zander, Thanksgiving is.... "when the princesses [pilgrims] come over on the flower boat [Mayflower ship] and bring lots of food." I just about lost it when he told me this!! Tonight, I read him the usual two stories, off go the lights, and then cuddle and talk for a few minutes. During our talk tonight, we talked about how we had fun at Gpa Kurt and Gma Karen's house today. I told him we'll be seeing them again this week for Thanksgiving. This is when he informed me that this is the day we eat turkey. When I asked him if he knows why we have thanksgiving, he proceeded to tell me about the princesses and the flower boat. Too funny! He said he learned about this at Lizzy's. I'm impressed that he knew about Thanksgiving even if he did get a few words wrong.

scrap projects (past & present) & Mason's monthly photo

Scrap Projects
About 3 weeks ago, my sister and I spent the day with mom making cards. My mom and I each brought draft designs that we could mass produce. Here's a photo of some of the designs.

Tonight, Mana is playing poker with the guys, so I decided to work on Mason's album again. I managed to get one layout done.

Mason's Monthly Photo

Last week, we took Mason's 8-month photo with his bear. I'm so glad we've kept up with the monthly photos. (Zander wanted in on the action this time). The first 7 months were posted here.

Feist 1 2 3 4

Lovin' this song and video. After watching it like 12 times, I still cannot figure out how that person comes out from behind her... and then all the people disappear behind her at the end. Must be a trap door or something. On second thought, I'm blond so it's probably something simpler than that!

pump junkie

Yesterday, I found my pump in my office knocked to the floor and the tubing not connected to the front. I thought, "oh crap, not again!" What I'm referring to is a instance about 4 months ago where the front cover snapped off inside the tubing. And yes.... it happened again! Crap, crap, crap! I was leaving in 30 minutes for a girls dinner (more on that later), so I couldn't do anything until I got back. I knew I had to contact my "dealer"... she would help, right?! She came through for me last time. So I called her, told her what I needed and she had to check her inventory and call me back. A few minutes later, I got the call. She had the "goods", so I left right away. Did I mention that she lives in Andover?

I seriously felt like a junkie.

Dinner with the girls was great! We met at Boston's in Maple Grove. It's always nice to enjoy a night out with them. We've stayed pretty true to a monthly event.

Zander's new obsession

Zander has been absolutely obsessed with using the computer..specifically the PBS kids website. It's a great website with kid-friendly learning games. His favorite this week is Caillou.

Mason Milestones & current projects

Long time, no post.

Mason's Milestones

* About a week ago, Mason started to be able to sit up from being on his tummy. He can go back and forth between sitting and tummy very easily now. I love it because he no longer gets frustrated being stuck on his tummy... and if he gets bored sitting up, he can easily get onto his tummy.

* In the last few days, Mason has started "crawling". He had been doing a little bit of scooting over the last month. A few days ago, he started crawling on his left side. He didn't yet have the hang of moving both sides of his body, so he basically goes in circles as he scoots with his left arm and left leg. Just today, though, I would say that he's got the hang of using all limbs as he travel many feet in a straight line! Holy crap, my baby crawls!! No more leaving him alone for a few minutes while I step out for whatever reason (bathroom, kitchen).

* No more "Nukkers"!! That's right, we're done with the pacifier. The boys were sick with colds the last few weeks. While Mason was all stuffed up, he didn't want his pacifier for sleeping. After the cold went away, we decided that we weren't giving it back. The first few nights it took Mason about 30 minutes to get to sleep. After that, though, he fusses less than 5 minutes. Some nights he doesn't even cry at all - like tonight :)

Here are some projects I'm working on...

* Mason's birth scrapbook: I'm working on the page of the labor & delivery. I wrote up my journaling of the series of events while In the hospital. Seeing as though Mana thinks that I change the story, I will have him review my journaling for accuracy before adding to my page.

* house clean-up: Today, all 4 of us were home all day - a rare occurrence!! We did a lot of cleaning, laundry and dishes. I put away the boys' clothes that are too small.

EnPulse it is!

Yesterday my g-pa found out he needed to get a pacemaker and this morning he had the implant. All went well. He has an EnPulse single chamber IPG. Hopefully, he will get some energy back. He was diagnosed with AF (Atrial Fibrillation). They are treating the fast arrhythmias with medications and the slow ones with a pacemaker. His lower limit on his IPG is 60 BPM. When he found out he needed a pacemaker, he said, "It better be Medtronic. My daughter and two granddaughters work there!"

I tried calling him tonight, but no answer. Probably getting some rest. Talked to mom and she said the implant went great. It took only 30 minutes. He's staying overnight and is scheduled to go home tomorrow around noon.
